ORIGINAL MUSIC & MUSICAL DIRECTION (WHORE)

Since 2008, MATT KATZ-BOHEN (ORIGINAL MUSIC & MUSICAL DIRECTION BY, WHORE), has played keyboard in Blondie, consistently touring the world. He co-wrote 6 songs on Blondie’s albums “Panic of Girls” and “Ghosts of Download” including the singles “What I Heard” and “A Rose by any Name”. His collaboration with Manila Luzon, “Best XXXcessory” reached #37 on the iTunes dance chart. He has won SESAC’s Abe Olman Award for songwriting, a TV Land Icon Award, and an NME Godlike Genius Award. Blondie’s 2013 UK Single, “A Rose by any Name”, featuring Beth Ditto, received Prime rotation on BBC Radio 2. He is also acting sub-Musical Director for Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. Katz-Bohen has toured with Boy George, Tony Bennett, Ashford and Simpson, Theophilus London, Psychic TV, Raja Gemini & Manila Luzon (RuPaul’s Drag Race).

Born in New York City, Matt Katz-Bohen started playing piano, cello, violin and guitar at LaGuardia High School of Music, Art, and the Performing Arts (the school known as “FAME”). As a guitarist for NYC’s popular Bowieball shows, as well as for the Drag Queen Rock n Roll troupe “The Touchables”, where he has worked with Jody Watley, Princess Superstar, Lady Miss Kier, Justin Vivian Bond, Mink Stole and John Cameron Mitchell.

He also musical directed Debbie Harry’s sold-out, critically acclaimed residency at the legendary Cafe Carlyle, and acted as sole accompanist, on piano, guitar, synth and laptop.
